Monroe, WI (September 18, 2023) – One person lost their life and 8 others suffered injuries in a car accident reported in Monroe. Sources say the collision took place at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night, September 16.
Several responders were dispatched to the scene on Highway 81 near Highway N. The incident occurred between three vehicles including a 2014 Ford Focus occupied by four individuals. The Focus was headed north on Highway when it ran a stop sign and collided with a 2001 GMC pickup truck, also occupied by four people. The GMC was traveling east on Highway 81 at the time. The impact pushed the pickup into a 2013 Subaru sedan occupied by one driver. The sedan was traveling west on Highway 81, according to reports.
The driver of the Subaru lost his life at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by the Green County Coroner’s Office. His name has not been reported at this time. The eight others involved in the collision all sustained varying degrees of injuries. They received care at the scene from paramedics and were taken to the hospital as needed.
Police in Monroe continue to investigate.
