Anyone who sustains injuries in a car accident can have their life totally turned upside down. Every year, three million people suffer injuries in auto accidents in the United States. Sadly, around 40,000 end up losing their lives due to the severity of their injuries. In the US, auto collisions are the main reason individuals aged 15-20 lose their lives, and among the top ten reasons Americans end up with serious or fatal injuries. The number of car wrecks that happen per year is definitely alarming, however, the most alarming fact related to auto collisions in the United States is the most common reason they happen: driver negligence.

Negligent driving has been a problem since people began driving, however, it has gotten substantially worse in the past decade. This is most likely due to the ever-rising popularity and use of smartphones. Individuals feel the need to constantly check their phones, even while behind the wheel. If you choose to look at your cell phone while driving, you are risking your own life and the lives of those around you.
