Hartford, WI – Man Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash at County Trunk K & I-41

Hartford, WI (July 21, 2023) – Around 11:06 p.m. on the night of Thursday, July 20, a man was killed in a fatal two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Hartford.

According to Washington County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of County Trunk K and I-41. Police confirmed that a 64-year-old woman from Fond du Lac was operating a vehicle and turning north at the intersection when her vehicle was struck by a westbound vehicle. The vehicles were extensively damaged in the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The operator of the westbound vehicle, identified as a 21-year-old Hartford man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The female driver was extricated from her vehicle and flown to a local hospital by a medical helicopter with serious injuries. Nobody else was injured in the collision.

Due to the severity of the accident, the road was blocked in the area for about six hours. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues.
