Wausau, WI (October 31, 2023) – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of an automobile accident reported in Waupaca County on Saturday, October 28.
According to reports provided by the Wisconsin State Patrol, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the City Highway W. The Dale First Responders, Wisconsin State Patrol, Dale Fire Department, and Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene to provide assistance.
The pedestrian was severely hurt as a result of the accident and ended up passing away.
The Waupaca County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the site of the crash and pronounced the victim deceased from their injuries.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash. However, law enforcement located the driver soon after the incident. The driver was taken into police custody, where they face unknown charges. Authorities believe that alcohol may have been a factor in this collision.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are currently investigating.
