Ripon, WI (October 22, 2023) – A young child was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries following a bus crash that took place in Fond du Lac County on Friday afternoon. According to reports provided by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, just before 4:30 p.m. on October 20, authorities were called to assist at the scene of a crash on Highway 44/49.
Reports show that a school bus was traveling on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle just north of County Highway KK. As a result, the vehicle entered a ditch. The bus did not roll over or flip over as a result of the collision.
An 8-year-old girl on the bus was seriously injured. A helicopter was requested at the scene to transport the victim from Ripon Medical Center to Children’s Wisconsin Hospital for emergency treatment.
