Milwaukee, WI (September 28, 2023) – A sergeant with the Milwaukee Police Department was left injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday morning, September 26.

At around 1:30 a.m., the police were notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of an officer-involved collision.

Reports from the Milwaukee Police Department show that a driver was speeding and passed through a stop sign at the intersection of North 35th Street and Meinecke Avenue during the early morning hours. The vehicle crashed into a police patrol vehicle before striking a tree.

The second vehicle came to rest on the sidewalk. Multiple people exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

The police sergeant was seriously injured in the accident. They were rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
