Cato, WI (September 10, 2023) – Police in Cato are currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened on Sunday, September 10. Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash site shortly after the wreck took place to render aid.
Police and EMTs went to the scene, located on US Highway 10 near County Highway G. Preliminary reports show a 21-year-old female from Menasha was traveling west on US Highway 10 in a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado while a woman from Reedsville, age 17, was headed east in a 2010 Ford Escape. The vehicles were involved in a head-on collision for reasons still under police investigation.
The 21-year-old woman was pronounced deceased on-site, while the other driver was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Neenah. She was later pronounced deceased. No one else was present inside the vehicles at the time of the crash.
Police in Cato continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
