Trenton Twp, WI (August 20, 2023) – A motorcyclist lost his life, and a passenger was sent to the hospital following a collision in western Wisconsin on Saturday evening, August 19.
Information from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office shows that the crash occurred on Highway 63 near 830th Street in Trenton Township. Several responders went to the scene at around 5:15 p.m. to help those involved.
Michael Cardell, 53, was headed north on Highway 63 on his motorcycle when traffic began to slow. He changed lanes and struck an SUV, according to reports. Cardell was ejected from his motorcycle in the crash. He lost his life at the scene, according to reports.
His passenger was identified as a 34-year-old woman who was taken to a hospital in Red Wing. The extent of her injuries is currently undetermined. The driver of the SUV sustained no injuries in the collision.
