Tacoma, WI (July 17, 2023) – Around 1:30 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, July 16, a two-vehicle collision with injuries happened at an intersection in Tacoma.
According to Tacoma Police Department officials, the accident happened in Northeast Tacoma on Marine View Drive. Police confirmed that two vehicles were initially racing in the area. One of the vehicles went around a curve and traveled into the other lane of traffic, striking a third vehicle head-on. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of eight people sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Four of the victims were hospitalized in serious condition while one sustained life-threatening injuries. Their conditions and identities are not currently known.
A large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
