Madison, WI (July 8, 2023) – Injuries stemmed from a five-vehicle collision that took place on a roadway in Madison on the morning of Saturday, July 8.
According to Madison Police Department, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on East Johnson Street around the area of Fordem Avenue. Police confirmed that at least five vehicles were involved in a collision with each other in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the involved drivers fled the scene of the crash after it occurred.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Madison responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of three ambulances were present at the scene. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for several hours. Police fully cleared the scene by approximately 4:30 a.m.
No further details have been released but Madison Police continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
