Lime Ridge, WI – Semi-Truck Accident Takes One Life at State Hwy 154 & State Hwy 130

Lime Ridge, WI (July 20, 2023) – Around 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 19, one life was taken in a fatal semi-truck accident in Lime Ridge.

According to Sauk County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of State Highway 154 and State Highway 130. Police confirmed that a Freightliner truck was headed south with an empty flatbed trailer when it went through the intersection. A dump truck was headed east and also went through the intersection, causing them to collide with each other. Both vehicles then overturned as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the dump truck, identified as an 84-year-old man from Lone Rock, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The semi-truck driver, identified as a 32-year-old man from Florida, did not sustain injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time after the collision.

No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
