Green Bay, WI – Passenger Injured in Crash into Building on Main St

Green Bay, WI (July 24, 2023) – At 10:45 p.m. on the night of Sunday, July 23, a passenger sustained injuries in a reckless driving incident in Green Bay.

According to local officials, the accident happened on Main Street near the intersection of St. George Street and North Irwin Avenue. Police report that a driver was driving recklessly in the area in their minivan when they lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slam into the Main Street Commons. This caused a portion of the building to break off and caused extensive damage to the van.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the van, identified as a 29-year-old woman from Green Bay, was injured in the accident but is expected to be okay. The passenger of the vehicle also sustained injuries. They have since been identified as a 27-year-old man from Oneida.

The roadway was blocked in the area for some time after the accident. The Green Bay woman was taken into custody for her role in the accident, though her charges are not yet known.
