Caledonia, WI (July 28, 2023) – A motorcycle accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Caledonia on the afternoon of Thursday, July 27.
According to Caledonia Police, the accident happened around 1 p.m. on Douglas Avenue around the area of Highway 31. Police confirmed that a northbound passenger vehicle was trying to make a left turn in the area. This put them directly in the path of two motorcyclists who were traveling in the area. The motorcyclists were unable to stop in time, causing a collision between the three vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Both the motorcyclists, who have not yet been formally identified, sustained serious and life-threatening injuries. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, one of which was transported by medical helicopter. The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
