Plover, WI (June 11, 2023) – Injuries were reported in a rollover collision that took place on a highway in Plover on the afternoon of Sunday, June 11.
According to Portage County officials, the accident happened around 12:38 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-39 around the area of mile marker 151. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling north in a vehicle carrying a pop-up camper behind it when the driver suddenly lost control due to unknown reasons. This caused the vehicle to crash and roll over, which led to extensive damage.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two people inside the vehicle had to be rescued from inside due to being trapped. They were then rushed to local hospitals by ambulance, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in all northbound lanes for about an hour until the scene was cleared.
