Combined Locks, WI (June 2, 2023) – A young girl was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Combined Locks on the afternoon of Friday, June 2.
According to Outagamie County officials, the accident happened at 3:08 p.m. at the intersection of Washington Street and Wallace Street. Police confirmed that a 9-year-old from Kimberly was crossing Washington when she was suddenly struck by a driver in a tractor-trailer. The driver of the truck remained at the scene following the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The nine-year-old pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital but was tragically pronounced dead while there due to traumatic injuries. The 59-year-old truck driver was not hurt in the collision.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for approximately four hours as police worked to clear the scene.
Deputies continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
