Augusta, WI (June 16, 2023) – A motorcycle accident with injuries took place at an intersection in Augusta on the evening of Thursday, June 15.

According to Dodge County officials, the accident happened around 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of County Highway R and County Highway O. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling south on Highway R when a northbound dump truck attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. This put the dump truck in front of the motorcycle, causing a collision between the two, leading to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as a 61-year-old man from Watertown, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The dump truck driver, who has since been identified as a 52-year-old male, was not hurt but remained at the scene.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time following the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.

We want to offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to the motorcyclist who has been hurt in this accident.
