Portage, WI – One Hospitalized in Serious Motorcycle Crash on County Hwy P

Portage, WI (May 22, 2023) – One person sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident that took place on a major roadway in Portage on Sunday evening, May 21.

According to Portage officials, the accident happened at an unidentified time on County Highway P close to the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 51. Police confirmed that two motorcyclists were traveling in the area when they were involved in a collision with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. Both motorcycles were extensively damaged due to the accident.

Several responders, including Portage fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the motorcyclists, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to the hospital by medical helicopter for treatment of serious injuries. The other motorcyclist did not sustain any injuries.

A section of the roadway was blocked for some time following the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues.
