Delafield, WI – Box Truck Accident Injures Teen on I-94 Near Hwy C

Delafield, WI (May 31, 2023) – A box truck accident with injuries took place on a major roadway on the night of Tuesday, May 30.

According to Waukesha County officials, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-94 around the area of Highway C. Police confirmed that a 17-year-old was driving an SUV in the area when the vehicle was involved in a collision with a box truck due to reasons that are not entirely known. The SUV rolled over, causing it to collide with a second SUV.

Several emergency responders were immediately called to the scene following the crash. The 17-year-old driving the SUV had to be extricated from his vehicle by fire crews. He was then rushed to Aurora Summit Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the box truck, as well as the individuals inside the other SUV, also sustained injuries but were only treated at the scene by EMS crews.

Eastbound lanes of traffic on the highway were closed for about two hours after the accident. Police worked to clear debris as quickly as possible.

Waukesha County officials continue their investigation into the collision at this time.
